Time to recap the IFI Press Event with Benny and “Unofficial Steve”

Every year certain companies tend to hold a press event where they gather the gaming media to sit down, chat, and make a few announcements. Idea Factory International is one of these companies and they have in fact done this every year for the last four years. The annual Idea Factory International Press Event has become a staple for us as Operation Rainfall and this year was no different.

Visual Novel Manager Benny Carrillo attended the event this time and even managed to drag “Unofficial Steve” from the old Backlog Wednesday’s along for the ride. Join the pair as they recap their thoughts about the event, HakuokiNeptunia, and have an extensive discussion about Limited Editions.

Enjoy!

Additional Thoughts and Notes:

Since podcasts are of course an audio medium I wanted to provide a few images of the Hakuoki: Kyoto WindsCyberdimension Neptunia LEs to help you visualize some of what we’re talking about.

First up the Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds Limited Edition

Corrupted Save | Hakuoki Kyoto Winds LE - Box

The massive Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds Limited Edition Box

Corrupted Save | Hakuoki Kyoto Winds LE - Bento Closed

The included bento box, first with the lid on.

Corrupted Save | Hakuoki Kyoto Winds LE - Bento Open

And now with the lid open.

Next here’s the Cyberdimension Neptunia Limited Edition:

Corrupted Save | Cyberdimension Neptunia Limited Edition - Box

The front of the box

Corrupted Save | Cyberdimension Neptunia Limited Edition - Side Art 1

Artwork depicted along the sides of the inside of the box

Corrupted Save | Cyberdimension Neptunia Limited Edition - Side Art 2

More artwork along the side of the box.

Corrupted Save | Cyberdimension Neptunia Limited Edition - Art Book

The artbook and a rather nice one at that.

Corrupted Save | Cyberdimension Neptunia Limited Edition - Goddesses of Alsgard Art Stand

The “Goddesses of Alsgard” Art Stand. This, in particular, is something I really think IFI should look into more. I’d love to buy something like this that had Nepgear or Vert on it.

Corrupted Save | Cyberdimension Neptunia Limited Edition - Nep USB

And the Neptune USB figure, which we sadly forgot to talk about.

One thing we forgot to mention was the Neptune USB figure. Despite the fact I don’t use it as a USB drive (My front ports are horizontally arranged so it would cover two) I really like this. As a figure, it’s very detailed nice looking. Heck, I’d like to see the rest of the cast done like this, even if we had to take out the USB function.

Finally, one last thing.

Since we’ve recorded the podcast, I’ve actually picked up a PSVR. There’s actually a pretty good sale on a few bundles going on right now. So if you’re on the fence about grabbing one now may be the time. Check the link below for more information directly from PlayStation.com:

Hope you all have enjoyed this special edition podcast and thanks to the Corrupted Save team for assisting me in getting this up

Until next time!
