Today’s Nintendo E3 Direct included a new Resident Evil trailer, which revealed that two more games in the series are coming to the Nintendo Switch this fall. Those games would be Resident Evil 5, and Resident Evil 6. Here is the trailer:

In RE5, Umbrella and its viruses may have been taken care of, but a new catastrophe begins in Africa. Villagers are being turned into dangerously twisted, and aggressive creatures.

In RE6, some familiar fan-favorite characters return. They include Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and Ada Wong. Alongside some new faces, they must contend with a new, terribly virulent threat: the C-virus. The story takes place in North America, Edonia (a war-torn Eastern European state), and the city of Lanshiang in China. Below are some screenshots from the Nintendo Direct:

Nintendo showed off a new trailer for Cadence of Hyrule in their E3 Direct presentation today. It shows a number of gameplay clips, and some of the game’s music of course. You can play as Cadence, Link, or Princess Zelda. Here is the trailer:

Cadence of Hyrule is a crossover of Crypt of the Necrodancer and The Legend of Zelda. Why? Because obviously it will move copies if you put the Zelda name on it. The game is set to release in two days on June 13th.

Today’s E3 2019 Nintendo Direct presentation had two pieces of Contra news for fans of the series. The first is a new game called Contra: Rogue Corps. The game features frenetic run-and-gun action, and you can take on your foes solo or team up with your friends and kick butt together. The game is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on September 24th, 2019. Here is the trailer:

The second piece of Contra news in the Nintendo E3 Direct was the Contra Anniversary Collection. It contains 10 different Contra games, plus a 74-page eBook. It’ll cost you $19.99 on the Nintendo eShop. It includes the following titles:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year. The game will come in its complete edition form, including every previously released piece of downloadable content. That includes two huge story expansions: Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine.

It is not known exactly when the game will launch, but you can pre-order it now according to the new trailer they showed today. You’ll be able to enter the dark fantasy world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on your Nintendo Switch sometime before the end of the year.

In Fire Emblem: Three Houses, war looms on the horizon in the land of Fódlan. The great Officers Academy is hosted within the headquarters of the Church of Seiros. The church keeps order in Fódlan, but it seems that is about to change for the worse. You have been invited to teach one of the three powerful houses. Each house is represented by a royal member from one of the three territories of Fódlan. You’ll need to lead your students to victory in turn-based battles of strategy, but first you’ll need to choose which house to serve.

The battles ahead will bring new twists for players to surmount, and your choice of which house to serve will greatly affect where you find yourself when the continent descends into war and chaos. Five years after studying together at the academy, former friends now separated by bitterness must face each other in battle amid the flames of war. The house and path you choose will determine your fate. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is set to launch on July 26th, 2019.

This, along with a number of Nintendo’s other first party games show one thing Nintendo is very good at: unique art styles. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake was first debuted earlier this year. The new E3 trailer showed off a little more of the game, including one major new feature that Nintendo has added in. It seems that as you adventure your way around Koholint Island and through the dangers that lie ahead, you will earn chambers. Related to this, we saw a familiar character, good old Dampe the grave keeper (of Zelda: Ocarina of Time fame). You can visit him somewhere on the island, and use the chambers (which are dungeon rooms) you’ve unlocked so far to create and play custom dungeons it seems.

Presumably you will be able to share your custom dungeons online, but this was not shown in the trailer at all. In the trailer, we see a heart shaped dungeon being created. Beyond this, we did not get to see any other options, such as if and how you can change the dungeon’s shape and size. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is not far off. Mark your calendar and get ready to set out on your next adventure on September 20th, 2019! Lastly, here are a handful of screenshots of the game in action:

Nintendo showed a new trailer for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, showing off the game, some new mechanics, and the fact that the game takes place on a deserted island. The visuals are of course a significant step up from the last home console game (Animal Crossing: City Folk), especially since that was back on the Wii, not the Wii U. The trailer also showed off some new game mechanics, such as jumping over a stream using a pole and creating paths. We also see her growing a small garden and crafting things.

At the end of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons trailer, they show a number of human characters gathering at the beach, which of course suggests there are a number of playable characters to choose from. It’s either that, or you may have some human neighbors this time. The bad news, is that the game has been delayed until March 20th, 2020. The Messenger: Picnic Panic is a free tropical expansion coming to The Messenger on July 11th, 2019.  The game is a classic action platformer caught up in a massive adventure across time. The game entails time travel, and acrobatic gameplay with tight controls. It’s also loaded with abilities, upgrades, branching paths, and hidden levels to find.

The Messenger features both 8-bit and 16-bit sprites, backgrounds, and animations, as well as a memorable group of associates, baddies, and of course bosses. Fall Guys was announced today to be coming sometime in 2020. The game will throw 100 players together in a competition of mayhem until only one is left standing as the victor. Fall Guys includes not only free-for-alls, but also cooperative challenges where only the victorious team may advance. Physics will ensure all kinds of funny failures along the way regardless of which mode you choose to play. The game will be available on both PC and PlayStation 4 next year.

If you are to be the one left standing in the end, the great victor, then you must overcome your rowdy fellow competitors, strange obstacles, and of course the laws of physics. It was announced during Bethesda’s E3 2019 showcase that Wolfenstein: Youngblood will be arriving on July 26th, 2019. It will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Players can team up with a real life friend or an AI companion to help them in the battles that lie ahead.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a co-op adventure that is set in the 1980s. The story follows the daughters of BJ Blazkowicz, Jess and Soph, who must fight their way through the Nazis that stand in their way. Their goal is to track down their father, who went missing in Paris. Of course, the game features more weapons and upgrades than past entries to give you a bigger arsenal to point at your foes.

Microsoft’s E3 presentation today confirmed the release date for Gears 5. The game is set to launch in a mere three months, on September 10th. You also have the chance to play it four days early via the Ultimate Edition or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

The Campaign mode will debut when the game hits Early Acces on the 6th of September. It is “the biggest Gears campaign ever and the first to feature three-player split-screen campaign co-op”. They also announced the new Escape mode, a high-stakes co-op mode where a suicide squad of three players must work in tandem to take out hives from the inside. Additionally, players will be able to create their own hive escape maps using the new map builder.

The Versus mode will debut in July in the Gears 5 Tech Test. This will include a new game type, Arcade, as well as the next generation of the Escalation game type. If you want to be part of the Gears 5 Tech Test, you can do so by pre-ordering at participating retailers, or also via Xbox Game Pass. They also have a collector’s edition of Gears 5 with extra goodies if you happen to have $270 burning a hole in your pocket. Finally, those who pre-order will get the Terminator Dark Fate Character Pack as a bonus. This also applies to those who play the game via Xbox Game Pass before September 16th.

They also announced that the Horde mode will make its return in August, with a hands-on gameplay debut that will take place at gamescom, and show new character abilities.

Microsoft announced the new Forza Horizon 4: Lego Speed Champions expansion. With it you can explore a new Lego themed world, which includes full seasonal changes. In it, you can also discover Lego Brick challenges, explore a Lego city to discover unlockables, as well as collect and race with the new Lego Speed Champions cars. They include the Ferrari F40 Competizione, the McLaren Senna, and the 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally.

The Forza Horizon 4: Lego Speed Champions expansion will launch on June 13th and cost $19.99, and is also included free of charge for players who own Forza Horizon 4: Ultimate Edition, the Forza Horizon 4: Expansions Bundle, or the Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Add-Ons Bundle. If you are an Xbox Game Pass member, you have access to the standard edition of Forza Horizon 4, and can get 10% off of the Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Add-Ons Bundle, or a stand alone purchase.

Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC, as well as Steam and the Microsoft Store this fall. This version of the game includes all previous Age of Empires II content, plus an all new campaign: The Last Khans. It also adds four new civilizations into the game (Bulgarians, Cumans, Lithuanians and Tatars). The definitive edition also adds a new spectator mode and tournament features. Spectators can switch between the views of players in the game, and see a UI overlay that gives them information on the player they are watching.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will set you back $19.99 if you’re a new player, but if you already own Age of Empires II: HD on Steam, you can get it for $14.99. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass for PC members can get the game to own from the Microsoft Store with that same discount. They also announced that the game will be available on Steam in August, and it will also have crossplay with Windows 10.

Lastly, if you’re interested, you can become an “Age Insider” if you would like to take part in the public beta. You can sign up at the official website.

Bethesda and id Software have announced that Rage 2 will be getting new content on a weekly basis. Furthermore, the game also has a new expansion coming, called Rise of the Ghosts. The upcoming expansion adds new enemies, new vehicles, new weapons, and of course more. They showed off a new trailer showcasing some of the new stuff coming to Rage 2. Check out the trailer:

The trailer shows us new game modes, story, areas, enemies, a mechanized walker, a sand worm, and also some new vehicles like the Armadillo and the skull motorcycle. However, Rage 2‘s Rise of the Ghosts expansion did not get a release date yet.

All-new NPC voice-over: VO has been added to NPCs you encounter in town, during major quests, and in the solo arena battle jobs.

New Dragon Questline: A new questline has been added featuring a fearsome Ancient Dragon and a mysterious dragonslayer.

New Jewelry: We’ve added new skill-boosting rings and necklaces. Look for them in chests, craft them at the Smithy, or buy them at the Enchanter’s Tower.

New Jobs and Solo Arena Battles: Adjustments and additions have been made to Jobs including the addition of Solo Arena Battles.

Support for Players that are Level 50+: Adjustments have been made to allow for players to level up beyond 50.

In addition to these updates, it should also be noted that the Switch version and existing mobile versions will be cross-platform. If you begin playing Blades tonight, your progress will carry over to the Switch version when it comes out. Also, rest assured that the Switch version will also be free to play. Finally, if you play the mobile versions during E3 the week, you will have the opportunity to obtain a number of free goodies. iOS users who login this week will receive the Crimson Kiss ruby ring, the Apple Pie banner decoration, and 200 gems. Android users will also receive those 200 gems, but will unlock a Cascadia sapphire ring in place of the ruby one and a Sweet Roll banner in place of the Apple Pie one. Obsidian Entertainment unveiled a new trailer for The Outer Worlds at Microsoft’s E3 2019 event today. They also announced at the end of the trailer that the game will be launching on October 25th, 2019. Players excited for the game need only wait a few more months.

You awaken on a colonist ship that is now lost in transit on its way to the furthest edge of the galaxy. It also turns out to be decades later than you expected to be waking up! Soon, you find yourself in the middle of a conspiracy that threatens the destruction of the Halcyon colony. You’ll explore the deepest depths of space and run into various factions fighting for power. However, you are the variable that they didn’t plan for in the corporate equation for the Halcyon colony. Your decisions will deterimine the fate of the entire colony. Welcome to The Outer Worlds.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is being developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Bandai Namco. It will be available at launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.  While we still don’t know exactly when this is coming out, things are starting to feel more concrete. At this year’s E3 press conference Microsoft revealed a new game based on the classic 1999 horror film The Blair Witch Project. The game simply titled Blair Witch is being developed by Bloober Team. The game follows an officer and his canine companion searching for a missing child in the terrifying Black Hills forest, which was also the setting in the original film.

This is not the first time that the Blair Witch franchise has dipped its toes into the world of gaming. During the early 2000’s a trilogy of third person survival horror games akin to Silent Hill and Resident Evil were released. The trilogy centered around the lore of the witch but unfortunately was not received well critically and fell off the grid fairly quickly.  This new iteration looks to take cues from contemporary first person horror games like Outlast. Bloober Team is no stranger to horror games as their previous two projects, Layers of Fear and Observer, garnered positive reviews and were genuinely frightening. Let’s see if this walk through the woods is worth it once more.
